Ian's objective in both life and in business is, "making a difference." As a coach for soccer, lacrosse, baseball, basketball and ice hockey, Ian has been helping athletes achieve their highest level of performance since his college days at Trinity University. So, it's no surprise that his natural inclination to educate and encourage has been instrumental in shaping the next generation of MassMutual financial professionals. An industry innovator himself for over 30 years, Ian's expansive knowledge of product and case design, combined with his steadfast belief that protection is the foundation of sound financial planning, has made him an invaluable leader.
As the Agency Director of Development at MassMutual Pittsburgh, Ian's training curriculum is designed to help educate our financial professionals, and their clients, on the fundamental truth of financial planning. "Protection-based plans have more flexibility than those solely based on investment returns." Ian has made Permanent Life strategies the focus of his practice and has earned the Certified Family Business Specialist (CFBS) designation.
In his dual position as Brokerage Director, Ian has cultivated an impressive list of industry professionals who recognize the advantage of working with a tireless advocate.
As quick to crack a joke as he is to lend a hand, he also lays claim to the World's Best Dad Award, 26 years and counting. When he's not guiding others towards financial success, you'll find him coaching AAA ice hockey and watching his eldest son play lacrosse, most recently for Denison University. He also looks forward to cheering on his youngest son this fall, when he joins the hockey team at Babson College. Ian has been married to his wife Devon for 30 years.
