As MassMutual Pittsburgh’s Firm Recruiting Coordinator, Jess spends her days connecting with career changers, experienced advisors, and recent college graduates. She loves engaging with individuals who have an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to inspire and empower others, introducing them to careers in the field of financial planning.
Before transitioning to recruiting, Jess worked as a licensed social worker for five years across various non-profits in Pittsburgh. She finds many similarities between social work and recruiting, such as the importance of building strong relationships and linking people with valuable opportunities. Jess graduated from Rutgers University with a double major in Journalism and Media Studies and Political Science. After completing a year of service with AmeriCorps, she obtained her Master of Social Work from Fordham University in New York City before returning to Pittsburgh to be closer to her family.
As a former social worker, Jess has witnessed how money and class can profoundly affect a person's life, shaping their opportunities and overall well-being. She believes that financial services can make a significant difference by providing people with the tools and guidance they need to achieve financial stability and success.
In her spare time, Jess is probably doing something creative like taking a dance class, practicing yoga, or doing freelance social media work. She loves exploring new restaurants and coffee shops in Pittsburgh or relaxing at home with her husband, Chris, and their two adorable and perfect cats, Paws and Bigsby.
